1. Information We Collect
Cibum ("we", "our", or "the App", operated by Codelogiic) collects information necessary to provide smart pantry tracking, household collaboration, and localized grocery optimization:
- Account Information: When you register via Google Sign-In or email, we receive your name, email address, profile photo URL, and unique user identifier.
- Household & Pantry Inventory: Food product names, quantities, expiration dates, custom storage categories (Fridge, Pantry, Freezer), and activity logs within your household.
- Camera & Image Uploads: Used strictly with your consent to scan product barcodes (UPC/EAN), produce PLU codes, or capture paper grocery receipts for OCR parsing. Photos are processed in real-time and not used for facial recognition.
- Location / Postal Code (Optional): If you choose to explore nearby weekly supermarket circulars or map store trips, you may provide your ZIP/postal code or enable device location services.
2. How We Use Your Information
We utilize collected data solely to:
- Synchronize real-time inventory and wants lists between members of your household.
- Calculate shelf life reminders and alert you before perishable foods spoil.
- Recommend zero-waste recipes matched against ingredients currently in your kitchen.
- Compare supermarket flyer discounts to compute optimal grocery shopping routes.
3. Third-Party Integrations & Open Food Facts
Cibum partners with and connects to trusted services:
- Open Food Facts: When scanning barcodes, Cibum queries the public Open Food Facts database to retrieve verified Nutri-Scores, Eco-Scores, and NOVA food processing classifications. If you submit photos of unrecognized items, you contribute to this public community database under the Open Database License (ODbL).
- Google Cloud & Firebase: Authentication, encrypted Firestore database synchronization, and Cloud Functions are hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure adhering to ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2 compliance.
- OpenStreetMap: Map rendering for store locations is powered by Leaflet and OpenStreetMap.
4. Data Retention, Security & Deletion Rights
In compliance with global data privacy standards (including GDPR, CCPA, and Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1):
- Right to Delete: You can delete your account, leave or delete your household, or remove individual items at any time through the in-app Settings menu. Upon deletion, all associated personal inventory records are purged from active Firestore databases.
- Data Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3/HTTPS).
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Cibum does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately for prompt removal.
